Mer-Moxie Chapter 3 CHAPTER 3: GARDENING FOR SALVATION When Serenity arrives at her destination seconds later, she sees several fairies fashioned after water lotus flowers swimming about in panic while an swarm of oscarfish ravenously munch away on a garden of sea flowers like a swarm of locusts going to town on a wheat field. The mer-heroine wastes no time in singing a siren spell on the oceanic herbivores, whom stop eating on the spot. With their eyes showing the telltale blackness and glowing yellow pupils, the hypnotized oscarfish look over at Serenity, who motions them to leave the garden and watches as they all leave the scene in a neat, straight line, disappearing in the horizon. Before Serenity can do anything else, she’s suddenly glomped by the lotus fairies as they cry out ‘THANK YOU’s while crying out in cartoonish waterfalls. “Uh, you’re welcome, fairies – if that’s what you are,” the mer-heroine says sheepishly. “You could say that, though we’re more like sentient flowers. You may
